Repair if…
Damage is smaller than a quarter, the crack is shorter than 6 inches, it's not in the driver's direct line of sight, and it hasn't reached the edge of the glass. A proper resin repair restores most of the structural integrity and stops the spread.
Replace if…
Damage is larger than a quarter, the crack is longer than 6 inches, the damage is in the driver's primary view, the crack reaches the edge, or there are multiple separate chips.
